Webinar: Puerto Rico’s Labor Transformation and Flexibility Act of 2017
June 7, 2017 @ 5:00 am - 6:00 am
We are pleased to announce a free 60 minute webinar, “Puerto Rico’s Labor Transformation and Flexibility Act of 2017” on June 7th, 2017.
On January 26, 2017, the Governor of Puerto Rico, Ricardo Rosselló-Nevares, signed the Labor Transformation and Flexibility Act (“LTFA”). The LTFA is a comprehensive labor and employment reform applicable to private employers in Puerto Rico that extends to hiring and termination practices, wage and hour provisions, and operating hours.
This one hour webinar is designed to discuss, explain and clarify the changes and impact the LTFA will have in the workplace. Attendees will be able to identify and understand most issues related to the Act, how to deal with the new changes, and avoid potential pitfalls.
This webinar will address the following areas in the Act:
- Employment contracts (new definitions, requirements and presumptions)
- Grandfather provisions
- Employee and employer duties
- Changes in wage and hours
- Vacation and sick leave
- Termination
- Revised severance payments
- Breastfeeding period
- Religious rights and reasonable accommodation
- Flexisecurity
- Adjusted employment reserve periods
- Liability caps
Please share this invitation with as many of your colleagues as you want and encourage them to also register. If you will be in the same room listening together, only one person needs to register. If you will be in different offices or locations, each person will need to register. You will view the power point slides via your computer and can listen either via your computer speakers or the telephone.
If it is difficult for you or others to attend, the webinar will be recorded and posted on the ELA website within a week of the live event; you are welcome to listen to it there. We encourage you to take advantage of this free webinar.
