Employment Law Alliance’s Higher Education Council Files Amicus Brief with National Labor Relations Board
The ELA’s Higher Education Council, which includes Hirschfeld Kraemer’s Natasha Baker, has filed an amicus brief with the NLRB in the matter of The Graduate Workers of Columbia v. The Trustees of Columbia University in the City of New York.
The brief argues against the classification of graduate assistants as statutory employees, saying that such a move would undermine the academic nature of the relationship between faculty and their graduate students.
