Managing the College Bully

“Managing the College Bully” will be presented by Carmen Plaza de Jennings and Jayne Benz Chipman at The Community College Conference on Legal Issues, hosted by Valencia College. “Bullying” is an oft-used word these days to generally describe a wide spectrum of bad conduct by peers, co-workers, employees and students.  This workshop will review the types of conduct that can constitute “bullying,” as well as identify for participants the types of bad behavior that can cross the line of unlawful conduct in the college workplace.  We will also discuss options and approaches for managers to handle “bullying” when it arises in the college employment context.
