Steve Hirschfeld Comments to San Francisco Chronicle on Potential Expanded Laptop/Tablet Airline Cabin Ban
Steve Hirschfeld is quoted in the San Francisco Chronicle article titled, “Thousands of flights could be affected by proposed laptop ban.” The piece explores a proposal under study by the U.S. Department of Homeland Security to expand a March prohibition on laptops and tablets in passenger cabins on flights from 10 airports in Africa and the Middle East to include flights from Europe. The impetus for the prohibition is the threat of explosive devices being smuggled aboard planes in consumer devices by terrorist groups.
